North Raleigh Chamber Hike Outing
We miss seeing everybody in person, so here’s a chance to get out from behind your computer, and safely get some exercise with fellow North Raleigh Chamber members. Join us Saturday, January 30, for the North Raleigh Chamber Hike Outing, sponsored by North State Bank! Families, kids, friends and well-behaved dogs all welcome. We’ll meet at the Umstead Visitor Center, which is located on the right side of Umstead Parkway, about one mile from the main entrance on US 70. You can park in front of the Visitor Center or there is additional parking along a gravel road that runs behind the Visitor Center, which is accessed by going past the Visitor Center and making your first right.
We’ll be hiking going counter-clockwise along the Sal’s Branch Trail and adding in the camp ground loop. The total hike is 3.4 miles long with an elevation gain of 226 feet, and is rated easy to moderate. It should take an hour to an hour and a quarter max to complete the loop at a leisurely pace. Restrooms are available at the Visitor Center. Bring water, snacks, sturdy shoes, a mask, and your enthusiasm for the outdoors. This will be rain or shine.
